Board Member, 4 Year; North Sonoma County Hospital District

Kurt Hahn has resided in Sonoma County since 1977. He has a distinguished record of public and community service.

He served as President of the Redwood Empire Council of the Boy Scouts and as President of the Healdsburg Kiwanis Club. For 25 years he has served on the Board of Healdsburg Shared Ministeries which has sponsored affordable housing for seniors and the Healdsburg Food Pantry along with a veriety ecumenical programs by all the churches in the Healdsburg and Geyserville areas. Kurt has been involved with efforts to preserve the Healdsburg Boys and Girls Club and sustain a wide variety of youth activities in the community.

After his retirement in 1998 from a 40 year career in City Management, Finance and Redevelopment, Kurt was asked by Dr. Dan Rose to join in the effort to Save Healdsburg Hospital from it's pending closure by it's then owner HCA Colombia. Kurt helped comfiguer the public financing to buy the Hospital from HCA Colombia and subsequent efforts to create and finance the North Sonoma Cpounty Hospital District. When the District creation was approved by the voters Paul Kelley and the rest of the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors named Hahn to the initial Board. Fellow Board Members elected Kurt their first Chairperson.

Kurt Hahn brings to the Board of North Sonoma County Hospital District a wide background and knowledge of healthcare issues and well as keen understanding of the operations of Healdsburg District Hospital. He is a frequent speaker before area service and other clubs in Windsor, Cloverdale and Healdsburg on healthcare issues as well as a spokesperson for the District. He is considered one of the most knowledgable persons on healthcare issues in the County.

Kurt resides in Healdsburg with his wife Joandell. She is a retired Manager of Business Services for the Healdsburg Unified School District.Kurt and Joandell have four adult sons and eight grandchildren. Their hobbies include gardening and genealogy.
