Magnet Schools.

Support the development of magnet schools.
I am supporter of the existing magnet programs of our district. However, we need to develop additional magnet programs, such as the proposed partnership at Elsie Allen High School with Sonoma State University in which students will be able to receive 24 college units from courses taught by Sonoma State University professors. These courses will be transferable at a 98 percent rate. We also need to develop additional magnets at our middle and elementary schools so that we will attract additional students to our district. We need to ask the teachers and administrators at our schools, with input from the parents, for directions as to their children's interests and talents.
