Marsha Vas Dupre, Ph.D. was elected to the Santa Rosa City Council in 1998. During her four-year tenure, she has championed open government, clean air, preservation of hillsides, ridgetops and creek corridors, low-cost housing, alternative transportation, and a living wage for all Santa Rosans.
She is a retired educator from Santa Rosa City Schools, a twenty-nine year resident of Santa Rosa and a native of Dayton, Ohio. She holds a BS degree in Education from The Ohio State University; two masters degrees: one in Curriculum & Supervision and one in Counseling & Guidance from Wright State University; and a Ph.D. in Counseling & Guidance from The Ohio State University. Her twenty-year career with Santa Rosa City Schools was as a counselor and reading specialist at Santa Rosa Junior High, Lincoln and Monroe Elementary Schools. She has two grown children and is married to Jack Dupre, an optical test and standards consultant. They are active members of the Santa Rosa Symphony Association, the First United Methodist Church, Santa Rosa High School Foundation, and the Santa Rosa Junior College Foundation.
