Candidate StatementBy Harold CiceroneCandidate for Council Member; City of Pacifica | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
As submitted for publication in the Voter Information PamphletHAROLD CICERONE Age: 47 Occupation: Businessman My name is Harold Cicerone. I have resided in Pacifica for the past 15 years where my wife and I are raising our two boys. I was born in San Francisco, and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1980. For the past 16 years I have worked for the orthodontic division of a billion dollar dental company. As Western Regional Manager I am responsible for our sales force and meeting multi-million dollar goals. We have achieved our goals every year under my leadership. I believe giving back to a community is important. I am a member of the Pacifica Planning Commission and was Chairman in 2003. I served as Chairman of the Pacifica Strategic Plan Steering Committee. I am an original member of the Pacifica Library Task Force. I serve as Past President of the Pacifica Library Foundation where I was a Co-Founder. I am also a member of the Good Shepherd School Board. While bestowed with many attributes, Pacifica is faced with financial challenges. We have the added responsibility of protecting our mountains and coast while at the same time seeking revenue sources to provide for the quality of services we deserve and expect. In my personal life as in my professional career, I have always looked to the future with optimism, excitement, and endless possibilities. I believe in goal setting, and implementing plans to achieve those goals. Leadership begins with integrity and a commitment to listen. I pledge to continue my effort to build consensus and listen to every side of an issue; to press forward with a Comprehensive Community Strategic Plan to collectively assess our long term needs, and implement the plan to achieve them; to encourage our department heads to set goals and incorporate them into staff's performance; to work and lobby tirelessly with our state legislators to keep our property tax dollars at home; to support our local businesses and find solutions to our commercial vacancy rates; to continue to work for the needs of our libraries. I believe that Pacifica's greatest assets are our natural beauty and our active citizenry. By working together, we can build a future that embraces our natural resources, yet provides for the needs of a thriving community. I ask for your trust, confidence, and involvement. Vote Harold Cicerone for Council. |
