Position Statements

Public Safety

Lodi is fortunate to be served by dedicated men and women in our police and fire departments. These professionals must be adequately supported with manpower and equipment to ensure the continued safety of our citizens.

Fiscal Responsibility

As a city we are faced with a budget shortfall of $1.9 million. It is no secret that we are spending more money than we take in. We must develop a prudent long term financial plan to reverse this troubling trend. With more than 25 years of experience in the financial industry, I have the background and experience necessary to make sound budgetary decisions..

Ground Water Contamination

This troubling issue continues to plague our community. What appeared to have been a simple solution has resulted in the spending of millions of dollars, years of wasted time and little, if any, contamination removed. Let's bite the bullet and begin a serious joint effort to resolve the problem. It won't be easy. It may be painful and expensive. But it has to be done!

Economic Development

The continued expansion of our economic base is vital. In addition to attracting clean, compatible industry, we must also provide an atmosphere in which existing businesses, large and small, can prosper and expand. We have an obligation to provide local jobs for future generations.

Youth and Senior Services

As a long time youth sports coach, I recognize the benefit of keeping our young people active. We must continue to expand youth programs, especially for teenagers, so their spare time is devoted to positive activities + not crime and violence.

We also have a continuing obligation to our senior citizens. We must maintain the level of recreational, artistic and cultural programs currently provided and look for ways to expand the leisure services available to this important segment of our population.
