My name is Julio Joaquin Ramos and I am a Trustee of the City College of San Francisco. I was first elected to this very important position in November 2000 and I feel honored and privileged to have been able to serve the people of San Francisco for the past four years.
It has been a great struggle to balance the needs of students in the face of the severe budget cuts mandated from Sacramento. My principal objective in these troubled times has been dedicated towards maximizing all available resources on behalf of our students. While I am a Trustee, what is in the best interest of our students is and will remain the determinative factor in shaping the policies and procedures at City College. I believe I have been successful in that respect, but I am well aware that all those that champion education must remain ever vigilant if we are to succeed in the mission of keeping City College's doors open for educating all persons in whatever form they may desire. In a world of ever scarcer resources it is indeed a challenge! However, I am up to this challenge, that is why I ask for your vote this fall in order to help me continue building a brighter future for all the people that wish to study and take classes at City College. I am working hard to establish the modern classrooms and facilities essential in the 21st Century and I request the honor and privilege of continuing to work towards making City College of San Francisco the best Community College in the nation.
