Full Biography for Jim Ferrigno

I am running for School Board because, as a teacher, I have seen first-hand how our kids suffer because of opportunistic politicians. I am compelled to do all I can to change the current situation. If you want to have someone on the Board that will truly support the interests of kids and teachers and not their own career, I hope you will support my candidacy. Here is some information about my experience. I have been teaching in San Francisco and the Bay Area for the last eight years. I have been very active in the education/media area in San Francisco during that time. Also, I have hosted a radio show that was on SFLR 93.7 FM for the last 5 years. Roughly half of the airtime of my show has been centered around education issues, mainly relating to our city. I have been active in the KPFA community and have served as an elected board member. I have also done much work in the nonprofit community with groups including: Media Alliance, Global Exchange, the IMC, the anti-war movement and many others. I am President and founder of Freedom in Media, a San Francisco charitable and educational nonprofit corporation that supports local media. |
