David Hendren is a veteran criminal prosecutor with more than a decade of experience trying murders, rapes, child molests, kidnapping, tortures, domestic violence, insanity and hate crime cases. He has been a Deputy District Attorney in the San Diego County District Attorney's Office since 1991, and is currently assigned to the Superior Court Division after serving in the Family Protection Division.

David has prosecuted, convicted and obtained life sentences in a wide variety of murder cases. In the highly publicized case of Kristin Rossum, a toxicologist who poisoned her husband with the deadly drug fentanyl was convicted of life without parole. He also won a conviction against Patrick Hamilton, a San Diego Wild Animal Park animal keeper who murdered a co-worker. The victim's body has never been found. Hendren prosecuted and convicted Brian Fletcher and Terrance Moord, two would-be carjackers who shot and killed a young mother as she drove her family home; and Gilbert Araiza, a fugitive from Mexico who was brought to justice 16 years after brutally beating and stabbing an elderly shuttled bus driver to death.

In addition to his work as a prosecutor, David Hendren has taught criminal law courses at the Miramar Regional Law Enforcement Training Academy. He has acted as a legal expert and has assisted with peace officer testing for the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training.

David's experience also includes serving as Counsel to the California Assembly's Public Safety Committee on the impact of proposed legislation affecting criminal laws. He was also an associate attorney at Luce, Forward, Hamilton and Scripps from 1987 to 1990, where he represented Fortune 500 companies in civil litigation. David graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a B.S. in Business Administration, and obtained his law degree at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.

David lives in San Diego with his wife, Larissa, and their two children, Isaac and Noah.
