Jayne Chaffin

Occupation:

  • Healthcare Consultant
  • Community Volunteer
  • Former Healthcare Administrator (currently on sabbatical to raise my son)

In my professional work I have worked for public and nonprofit agencies and have served on several healthcare boards. For nine years, I was a senior staff member to a publicly elected hospital board and see many parallels between that experience and a school board. I have also worked with many children organizations, worked in Sacramento and the government relations area for four years.

Since scaling back my professional work 3 years ago to raise my 8-year old son, I've been very involved in the community as listed below.

  • Ashley Falls School PTA Board (2002-03 Vice President, Health & Welfare, 2003-04 Vice President, Volunteer Services; and 2004-05 Vice President, Legislation)

  • Ashley Falls School Strategic Planning (2003-04) Ashley Falls Site Council (2001-03, Chairperson 2003)

  • Ashley Falls Classroom Volunteer (2001-02 Kindergarten, 2002-03 1st Grade, 2003-04 2nd Grade and 2004-05 3rd Grade)

  • Del Mar Union School District Boundary Committee (2002)

  • Scripps Cancer Center Spin-Off Committee (2001-present)

  • Seabreeze Farms Homeowners Association Board, President (2003-present)

  • Cub Scout Den Tiger Cub, Wolf & Bear Leader (2002-05)

  • Community Clinic Health Network Board Member (2005-present)

Education:

Master of Public Health, Health Services Administration, San Diego State University, 1985.

Family:

I'm married and have an 8-year old son attending Ashley Falls School this year and the new school # 7 next year.
