Top Priorities if Elected |
- What is the Board's specific plan for achieving academic success for the 20% of our students who currently do not pass the STAR exam?
- When schools # 7, 8 and possibly 9 open, what changes are expected when & who will be affected?
- School funding is unpredictable in the foreseeable future & could bring sudden changes - are we prepared?

- More School Board Members Should Be Parents With Children In Our Schools
-
I was surprised to learn that only one of our current five school board members has children attending our schools. Our board members will be more vested in our schools when they are also parents of children attending our schools. I am a parent of a child in our schools. My son is a 3rd grader attending Ashley Falls School and he will be attending the new school # 7 next year.
- A Plan for Struggling and Accelerated Students
-
As parents, we all want to know that our children are getting an excellent education yet - 20% of the students in our school district are below the state and federal requirement level of "proficient" based on their most recent STAR tests.
- We Need to Revise Our Strategic Plan to Address Our Triple-Threat
-
The current strategic planning process is flawed because it has left our school district without specific plans to deal with our "triple-threat" - our most pressing three issues that have long gone unaddressed by the current board.
