We must build on the basics of reading, math and science to empower our students to be the next generation's problem solvers and collaborative, competitive workers. We need to emphasize critical thinking skills and instruction that promotes hands-on experiences with the everyday world.

Class size reduction promotes student success and achievement.

When hard-working students and staff face unwarranted state and federal sanctions, based on punitive assessment programs, the community must unite to maintain small class size and other quality programs.

I will work with all community stakeholders to promote and maintain quality school programs.

We need to support students who choose college and those who choose vocational educational paths. We need to work together as board, staff, parents and students to plan and build creative, new schools and stabilize district funding. Who knows better than parents what their kids need? Who knows better than teachers, on the front line every day with students, what those students need to meet their parents' goals, hopes and expectations? Working together, we will provide the best possible education.
