Candidate StatementBy Diane GordonCandidate for Board Member; Campbell Union High School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Campbell Union High School District has faced many challenges over the last few years as the state's budget has remained in crisis. However, financial difficulties should not hamper our efforts to improve education for Campbell's kids. Our budget priority should be the classroom, putting kids and teachers first. We need school board members who will work in partnership with parents and teachers to provide students with every possible educational opportunity. We must be willing to bring all parties to the table in the best interests of the students. I would help strengthen our district by involving parents, teachers, and the community in decision-making. We need more involvement not less. School districts cannot continue to do business as usual. The school board must value and utilize the input of parents, community members, teachers and all other school employees. We must set the expectation for teamwork and shared responsibility. Only then will we support the delivery of the education students need and deserve. Campbell needs partnerships, not partisanship; we need cooperation, not conflict. I respectfully ask for your support in this effort. |
