Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Chris C. Constantin

Candidate for
Trustee; West Valley-Mission Community College District; Trustee Area 3

This information is provided by the candidate

As President of the Board, I worked hard to save classes, services and retain local control of our colleges during the state budget crisis. The efforts successfully saved hundreds of class sections and avoided over 100 layoffs while not increasing taxes. The district has a balanced budget, and strong senior leadership.

If reelected, I will:

  • Restore class sections eliminated during the budget crisis, so more students can transfer to UC and CSU.

  • Expand successful partnerships with local high schools to provide advanced classes and programs to high school students.

  • Enhance firefighter and police training programs to meet local demand for well trained emergency services.

I am a lifelong district resident, graduate of SJSU and a former student of West Valley and Mission colleges. Currently, I work as a San Jose City Auditor who evaluates government programs and services to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

After eight successful years, the current board members unanimously endorse my reelection. Please reelect Chris Constantin to the West Valley/Mission Community College District Governing Board.
