Candidate for
Council Member; City of Saratoga

Flying airplanes takes a great deal of patience and attention to detail and I was an airline captain for twenty years. Prior to flying airplanes, I served in the U.S. Navy for four years and completed three tours of duty in Vietnam. I am the founder of Emery Air Freight, a multi-million dollar cargo service and I am presently the Chief Executive Officer of my own equipment leasing company. My colleagues know me as a leader with vision, attention to detail, and an eye on the budget. These are the qualities I will bring to the Saratoga City Council. My wife Sandy and I have lived in Saratoga for the last 15 years. My experience is that the vitality of our community depends on the city's cooperation with local schools, the preservation of open space and the responsible stewardship of our environment including our creeks, trails and public parks. I became a volunteer member of the Saratoga Good Government Group to do my part as an interested resident of the Saratoga Community. This group has given me a good perspective on our city government. As a member of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, I make it a point to buy local, to support our local business community. I am also a member of the Saratoga Amateur Radio Association, the Los Gatos-Saratoga Newcomers Club and the Japanese-American Citizen League.
