Trustee; Santa Barbara Community College District; Trustee Area 3

Dear Voters,

I am dedicated to keeping Santa Barbara City College primarily our own local community college, dedicated to the needs of our own local students and residents.

We are enriched by a variety of students that come from other areas, but our first and foremost duty and obligation to ensure excellence in education for our own residents. We have done a superb job doing exactly this for the ten years I have served on your board of trustees.

I have worked hard with Sacramento policy makers to preserve the local control of SBCC's decision making processes.

For five years, I served on the Legislation and Finance Advisory Committee of the Community College League of California, one year as its chairperson.

We reveiwed all legislation affecting community colleges and reviewed the governor's budgets.

Protection of local control for SBCC takes constant vigilence. I dedicated countless hours working to this mission. I pledge to continue this work for our community's best interests.

I have also pledged to honor the FAIR CAMPAIGN PRACTICES ACT and have secured endorsements that are confirmed independently in writing. You can count on my word when you see any endorser's name listed in my campaign material.
