Local ProblemsBy Joe ArmendarizCandidate for City Council Member; City of Carpinteria | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Local Problems with Regional SolutionsJoe recognizes the wonderful city we live in is the result of well run and accessible City government. The City of Carpinteria has done much to help itself and it shows. The downtown is vibrant and attractive, our open spaces are a wonderful recreational resource and our neighborhoods remain safe for our children. What Joe believes is that the problems we face are the result of pressures from outside our city boundaries. "Congestion on the 101, pressures to provide more housing, and our threatened open spaces are all a symptom of the problems pushed upon us by the decisions made in other local jurisdictions. What we need is strong leadership and representation regionally to stand up for Carpinteria's right to protect our quality of life." Joe will use his regional experience, essential relationships and understanding of the issues to bring strong representation for us regionally. He will act in our best interests to hold other jurisdictions accountable for doing their fair share. |
