I was appointed to the Board of Directors in the summer of 2000 following successful advocacy for the creation of the first dog park in the Rio Linda & Elverta Recreation and Park District. I was elected to office in the fall of 2000 for a two-year term. Following completion of that term, I was appointed to serve the remaining two years in a Director position that became vacant shortly after the 2002 election. I bring to the Board of Directors more than 16 years of government service as a personnel analyst and manager with the County of Yolo. Prior to this I served as a business agent for six years for a local independent labor union. I have lived in the Sacramento area for over 20 years and during the last 14 years have resided in Rio Linda. Prior to moving to the Sacramento area I served as a newspaper reporter for two years and completed two years of Peace Corps Service. For the last four years I have been active with the Board's Personnel Committee and Finance Committee. I also have served as the board's representative on Sacramento County's Off Leash Dog Park Task Force. |
