Dr. LaWanna Montgomery is a native of California and lived in Elk Grove since 1993. She is currently the CEO and Center Director of the REACH Learning Center in Sacramento, an enhancement tutorial program for students in k-12th grades, in addition her center provides before and after-school care for children. She is a wife and mother.

She will bring more than 20 years of community experience to the Sacramento and Elk Grove City Council. After learning about the problems in our community as the first vice president of the Sacramento Woman's Council, she helped to improve roadways, increase school attendance and hold workshops to decrease graffiti on school walls, parks and buildings. While serving on the Board of Director's of The Sacramento Woman's Council, she has helped to raise funds for the Job Corp, Friends Outside, and Loaves and Fishes to name a few. She was responsible for having council members and mayors of surrounding cities to speak at her organization. Also she serves on the Board of Director's of the Viola M. Brooks Civic and Social Club, which her organization has provided financial scholarships to graduating high school students attending Luther Burbank, McClatchy and Laguna Creek High School and more.

Mission: Restore Trust as an Accountable Leader Preserve the Quality of Life Smart Growth Safe Neighborhoods Create Jobs with Livable Wages + Tax Incentives to Attract Business Decrease Traffic Congestion on Roadways and Freeways Collaborate with the Community, Businesses, Educators, Police, CSD, Planning, etc to get the job done. Habitat Protection Old Town Attraction Establish a non-emergency customer service phone line for residents to call regarding, street signs, broken traffic lights, junk vehicles, high weed, etc.
