Education: I attended local schools and my senior year of high school at the Army Navy Academy in Carlsbad, CA. Received a B.A. Degree in U.S. History & Government from Pomona College, Claremont. Other experience, organization affiliations, etc.: I spent 3 years in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lieutenant and served in post war Germany. Thirty years business experience in retail and agriculture in Coachella Valley. I have volunteered on numerous committees in La Quinta such as the Adams School Site Council 1997-2000, Chairman of the La Quinta Water Task Force 1984-85 and President of the La Quinta Property Owners Association 1983-84. I am an Incumbent City Council Member with 18 years experience. I currently serve as Mayor ProTem, Vice-chair of the Coachella Valley Mountain Conservancy, Vice-chair of the CVAG Energy and Environment Resource Committee. I previously served as Chairman of the La Quinta Redevelopment Agency and CVAG's MRF/Transfer Station Task Force. Chair of the PM 10 Task Force that produced the new model ordinance adopted by local cities for dust control. |
