Candidate for
Board Member; Garden Grove Unified School District

My husband and I have been married for almost 25 years, and have lived in Garden Grove since 1983.

I've been an active member of the school community for thirteen years. My daughters are in the 7th, and 10th grades and we have a June 2004 graduate in our family.

I'm a parent who is extrmemly hands on - volunteering on a daily basis on three different campuses hasn't been unusual!

I'm currently PTSA President at McGarvin Intermediate School as well as a member of the School Site Council. I just ended 10 years with children attending Allen School. My daughters each attended Thomas Paine School where I was a very involved parent - serving on the PTO Board and on the School Site Council. I'm the music booster club president at La Quinta High School and also serve on the Site Council there.

In the past ten years, I've served on numerous GGUSD committees. A few have included: Site Utilization Committee, Promotion/Retention Task Force, Report Card Task Force, Homework consult, Drug Abuse curriculum recommendation panel...It has been an honor to serve on these committees - the education I received was tremendous.

I also participate in running a non-profit organization for families dealing with childhood cancer that live or receive treatment in Orange County.
