Candidate for
City Treasurer; City of Orange

Helen Walker has been Orange City Treasurer for ten years and is well experienced in city money management. She is running for re election in November. Helen has completed numerous California Municipal Treasurers Association seminars and banking courses, which have contributed to her extensive knowledge relating to the position.

Helen Walker is a lifelong resident of the City of Orange, attended Orange schools and graduated from Orange Union High School. She has been a banker for over thirty years, spending seventeen of those years at Orange National Bank and now holds a business development position at Orange Community Bank.

Helen Walker is a current board member of the Orange Historical Society, Miss Orange Scholarship Association and the Orange Elderly Services along with being treasurer of Soroptimist International of Orange and member of the American Celebrtion Committee for Opening Night at Chapman University.

Helen received the Rotary Club Recognition Award from the Orange Rotary in recognition of unselfish service to the citizens of Orange and was the City of Orange's 1990 Citizen of the Year. She is a past board member of the St. Joseph Hospital Guild and is a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She has been an officer or served on the boards of numerous community groups including Girl Scouts, PTA, Orange Women's Club and the Orange Centennial Committee.

Helen and her husband, Jim, a retired engineer, are the parents of three children and proud of their 8 grandchildren. Besides being inveterate bridge players, they tour periodically in their 1913 International Harvester Highwheeler. They attend the Yorba Linda Friends Church.
