I have lived my entire life in Fullerton. I grew up playing Golden Hill Little League (t-ball through senior-minor), Fullerton Ranger Soccer, and basketball at the Boys and Girls Club. I have fond memories of walking to Laguna Lake and going fishing;I remember riding my bike on the old BMX track that used to be located behind Parks Jr. High. I was fortunate enough to see a movie at the Fox Theatre.

My wife Heather is also a life-long resident of Fullerton, and we both look forward to raising our 4-year old son Matt in Fullerton. My wife and I are high school sweet-hearts and have been married for 8 years. Heather is a 1st grade elementary teacher in East Whittier, and a graduate of Cal State Fullerton.

I graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 1995 with a degree in Child Development. I then enrolled at Whittier College where I received my teaching credential. I began working as a 7th grade science teacher and athletic director at Hillview Middle School in East Whittier. I had always wanted to be a firefighter and enrolled in fire science classes at Santa Ana College in 1996. I was blessed in 2000 to be hired by the city of Long Beach as a firefighter.

I believe in helping others. That is why I have chosen careers that allow me to directly impact peoples lives. I also believe in volunteer work and I donate my time to the following programs: Habitat for Humanity, Millers Children Hospital, Christmas in April, and Rescue Youth Program. I am a former member of the Emergency Services Master Plan Committee and the Infrastructure Advisory Committee for the city of Fullerton.
