Candidate for
Board Member; Fountain Valley School District

I have been honored to serve on the Fountain Valley School District Board of Trustees for the past eight years and I am currently serving my second term as board president. I am very proud to have been part of the district's many recent accomplishments. The Fountain Valley School District has maintained class size reduction in grades K-2. We have continued to integrate technology into the classrooms; adopted new curriculum standards, and the district has developed its own benchmark tests in reading and math. The 2003 and 2004 STAR test results ranked the Fountain Valley School District the highest elementary district in Orange County. The board has worked diligently at recruiting and retaining outstanding administrators, teachers and support staff. Efficient management of district assets has enabled us to modernize all our school sites, keeping them well maintained, attractive and safe - without any new taxes or school bond measures. I would be honored to continue my service to the schools and the community for the next four years.
