I believe it is time to restore fiscal sanity to the city council. The current council has squandered our reserves on expensive unfunded projects. We must first restore our reseves to protect us from a financial emergency.

I have been a strong proponent for the elimination of the city Utility Tax. This could have been done over the past four years if our city council was performing its fuduciary responsibilities and watching our money. City revenues have grown more than the Utility tax brings in. This tax should have been eliminated.

Silenecing the train whistles should be the first priority of the major projects in the city. This council keeps robbing the funds for this project because they have run out of money. It is vital to the residents in this city that these whistles be stopped immediately.

As for redevelopment, the city cannot afford a one billion dollar mistake. While I believe it is important to revitalize the downtown area, we cannot ingnore other business areas through out the city. Over the years, the council has done nothing as businesses moved across borders to neighboring cities transfering important revenues to other thriving cities. We must bring business back to Placentia.
