Fountain Valley Term Limits issueBy Larry R. CrandallCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Fountain Valley | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
What do the citizens of Fountain Valley want their elected representatives to do on this issue? The residents of Fountain Valley voted to institute term limits in 1984.That vote was invalidated by the California Supreme Court for technical reasons relating to general law cities. In 1992, the law was changed to allow general law cities to institute term limits by vote of the citizens. Because Fountain Valley is a general law city and because the law has changed, I feel it appropriate to give the citizens the opportunity to vote this initiative either up or down. |
