Political Philosophy for Sid Williams

During my tenures as a Planning Commissioner and Property Manager for our city one thing was clear; most citizens of Marina want to see our town prosper and grow. The growth envisioned in our General Plan can bring increased housing and employment opportunities for the people of Marina but, that growth cannot occur without adequate supplies of safe, high quality water. We must ensure that our new citizens are provided with the supply they need without reducing the quality or quantity of water available for our current downtown and neighborhoods. For Marina the procurement and distribution of that water is the responsibility of the Marina Coast Water District. The reality of living on the Monterey Peninsula means we must be vigilant about water. Increasing our water supply is wise and can be accomplished by conservation programs, use of recycled or tertiary water, repair and operation of our own desalination plant, storm water recapture and the development of new water sources. We must explore all alternatives to ensure that we have sufficient water |
