This information is provided by the candidate

I am a lifelong resident of Seaside, a Seaside High School graduate, and attended the University of California, Berkeley. My experiences on the City Council, as President of the Association of Monterey Bay Area Governments, Vice-Chair of the Transportation Agency of Monterey County, Carpenter's Senior Field Representative for Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties and with volunteer organizations, have developed my abilities in leadership, team building, and problem solving.

My abilities to build consensus, provide leadership and the positive vision I possess are necessary to moving Seaside forward. As a Council Member I recognized a need for and initiated a strategic planning process to establish priorities to guide our development project and our budget process. We've since established priorities with the City Council and the City staff management team based upon citizen input. I also took the initiative and introduced resolutions regarding our community including; support for Measure Q, Support for MPUSD Bond, Opposing school closures in Seaside, and others. I also worked closely with the Juan Cabrillo families and LULAC opposing the closure of the school. I feel that my forward thinking and strategic planning skills are my strongest assets for my candidacy and for the City.
