The health and vitality of a community is predicated on the quality of its leadership. Sometimes it's incumbent upon individuals to step out of their daily lives and offer public service. While there is little or no remuneration, the greatest return is non-monetary.

It is important for our children to see that their parents participate in public life, rather than criticize from afar.
