Member, City Council; City of Arcata

Harmony was educated at Le Lycee Francais de Los Angeles, where she received her High School Diploma. She attended the American University of Paris in France, Santa Monica City College in California, and Hunter College in New York City. While in New York City, She experienced the World Trade Center Disaster. Recently, she graduated from Humboldt State University with a bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in French.

Harmony has worked against fast food companies as a board member for "Fit4Free". She has also picked-up trash with Heal the Bay, protested the Iraq war with Not in our Name and the Answer Coalition, and worked in Manhattan for a benefit for the families of victims from Windows on the World (the restaurant that was located at the top of the WTC). Locally she has worked for Friends of Paul Gallegos as a precinct walker, Arcata Library Bikes as a Statewide Bicycle Lobbyist and French Teacher, Redwood Peace & Justice Center as a fundraiser and newsletter editor/contributor, Democracy Unlimited as a volunteer, and Students to Save Campus Recycling.

Students to Save Campus Recycling recently rescued the recycling program from the cutting block with the help of a proposal written by Harmony. She has also worked for the Graduation Pledge Alliance at HSU as the director. The Graduation Pledge provides an option for graduating seniors to pledge to fight for social and environmental justice in life.

She now works for Six Rivers Solar in Eureka as a solar salesperson. She enjoys yoga, backpacking, singing/songwriting, bicycling, and art. She is running for Arcata City Council 2004 and seeks to work hard for Arcata's citizens. Harmony is interested in careful, planned development that would protect open space and promote infill. Harmony would like to see more bicycle infrastructure in Arcata and will work to get the city international recognition as a bicycle friendly place.
