I have the necessary qualifications to be a good Board Member.To be a good Water Board Member, one should have a good grasp of the community's needs and desires. One should have a basic understanding of water systems, how they operate and are managed. One should have planning skills, understand and be able to develope budgets that encompass operations, personnel, maintaince, and Large projects. As Fire Chief with the city of Eureka, I was responsible for developing and maintaing the Departmemnts budget. I developed planning, specifications and purchasing of expensive fire apparatus & equipment. I was directly responsible for 40 paid firefighters, 9 civilian dispatchers, City's 911 comunications center, and 20 volunteer firefighters. In addition to the above, I have been successfully fullfilling for the past 9 years the duties and obligations as a board member for the board. The above fully qualifys me to again serve the district as a Board member. |
