GDPUD in the FutureBy John R. PlymyerCandidate for Director; Georgetown Divide Public Utility District; Seat 4 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Plymyer sees a more business-like, aggressive direction for the Board on water issuesI have been a Divide property owner for 14 years and have been an elementary school teacher and principal, a marketing manager for a major corporation and an association director for two state-wide professional associations. I have been a volunteer at Marshall Gold Discovery Park, a member of the Government Affairs Committee of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and have served as President and Board Member of Auburn Lake Trails Property Owners Association. I will represent both agricultural and residential users and will address the challenges the district faces now and in the future. Emphasis should be on seeking and negotiating future water sources, a long-range plan for water allocations and rate schedules, a reserve plan for capital equipment and repairs and an accelerated plan and funding for ditch upgrades and repairs. With my experience as a lobbyist, I will work with the General Manager to negotiate with the state on current and future regulations that affect both the district and the rate-payers. GDPUD has some of the purest water in the state and I will strive to keep it that way. With my broad spectrum of business experience; community service; experience and expertise in working with the general public, the local community and government; I believe, with your support, I will be able to address and help resolve the issues facing the district and the community. I will be fair in my decisions, a good listener and a good negotiator. |
