Candidate for
Governing Board Member; Pollock Pines School District

Born in 1944, I moved to California at the age of fourteen. I graduated from CSU Northridge in 1967 with a degree in English. I continued formal schooling to earn teaching certificates in English, Business, and Mathematics. After I taught for eighteen years at Granada Hills H.S. in Southern California, my family and I moved to Pollock Pines in 1986. I taught at El Dorado H.S. for another sixteen years before retiring. Throughout my career, I have taught approximately 8000 students including special education students, honors students, and special education/honors students. I have served for the past eight years on the Pollock Pines School Board. Seven of those years I have had the honor of being selected as president of the Board by my fellow Board members. I have faithfully attended the last 135 Board meetings.

My bride of 36 years, Candy, has also retired after working for 16 years in the Pollock Pines and El Dorado Union H.S. Districts. She is currently completing CASA training to serve as a child advocate in the court system. Our son, Tory, graduated from El Dorado H.S., UC Davis, and the University of Oregon Law School. He is currently a partner in the Downey Brand Law Firm in Sacramento. Our daughter, Meghan, also graduated from El Dorado H.S. and San Francisco State University School of Nursing. She is currently an R.N in the emergency room at Marshall Hospital in Placerville.
