Candidate for
Member, City Council; City of Walnut Creek

Charlie is a 25 year resident of Walnut Creek. He and his wife, Janet, have raised three sons here, Stephen, Andrew and Peter. Soon after moving to Walnut Creek in 1979, both Charlie and Janet began their involvement in their community. They served on PTAs and music boosters at Walnut Acres, Foothill and Northgate. Both volunteered for youth sports; Charlie coaching Little Leage baseball for 15 years and Janet serving on the Walnut Creek Soccer Club board for 19 years. They have always been actively supportive of youth activities and education issues in Walnut Creek. In addition, Janet now serves as the President of the Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging and the Secretary of the Walnut Creek Library Foundation.

Charlie is the owner of Abrams Associates, a transportation, traffic engineering and planning consulting firm located in Shadelands Business Park. As a business owner in Walnut Creek, he is uniquely aware of the need to work with our city's business community so that both the city and the business can be successful.

The experience gained while serving on Walnut Creek's Transportation Commission and Planning Commission has served to be invaluable to Charlie's service as a City Council Member. Having now served two terms as a councilperson, he is qualified and prepared to participate in developing a general plan for Walnut Creek that will serve all the residents.

Representing the City of Walnut Creek, Charlie serves as Director on the County Transportation Authority. His business and civic knowledge has contributed valuable insight to the important decisions made by the Authority.
