Born and raised in Castro Valley, I live with my wife Susan, and my sons, Tyler and Matthew. I was first elected to the Castro Valley Sanitary District Board of Directors in 1999. I am a graduate of Castro Valley High School, Chabot College and San Jose State University. I am employed as the head of the East Bay Regional Park District Sanitation Department and coordinate the District's recycling programs. I also serve as a firefighter for the East Bay Regional Park District Fire Department. My community involvement includes:

President,Alameda County Source Reduction/Recycling Board.

Commissioner, Alameda County Parks, Recreation and Historical Commission.

Commissioner, Alameda County Fire Advisory Commission.
