Economic VitalityBy Cindy McGovernCandidate for Council Member; City of Pleasanton | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
My goal is to maintain Pleasanton as a healthy, safe, and attractive place to live, work, and raise a family. To do this, we must encourage quality businesses to stay or relocate to our community. These businesses will provide a needed tax base to continue our level of community service. As a Pleasanton City Council Member I will work with the Chamber of Commerce and the Economic Vitality committee to regionally market our community as the place to do businesses. We must market the strengths of our community: its public safety, attractive neighborhoods, excellent schools, historic pedestrian friendly downtown, regional shopping center, 100-acre sports park, Callippe Preserve Golf Course, trails connecting to regional parks, quality business parks, and accessible public transit. I support the expansion of tourism, added cultural and recreational opportunities, reduced traffic congestion, preservation of open space, conservation of natural resources, and the safeguarding of our environment against pollution. Our city's economic vitality depends on each of us shopping and doing business in Pleasanton. Keeping our sales tax dollars in Pleasanton is a way each of us can support our businesses and the economic vitality of our community. |
