Served as a diplomat to Government of S. Korea in power & energy in 1977.

NATIONAL DEFENSE EXECUTIVE RESERVIST

Placing special trust and confidence in my patriotism, fidelity, and abilities, I was designated as member of National Defense Executive Reserve (NDER) by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and have been serving United States of America since 1981 to help coordinate efforts and participate in exercises with other federal agencies and armed forces to assure continuity of government during a national emergency.

In appreciation and recognition of my 20 years of service, I was presented a distinctive NDER pin on December 5, 2001 by the United States Government for exemplary loyalty, professionalism and dedication to maintain our nation's readiness program in high esteem throughout the Federal community.

Presently, NDER unit of FEMA has been transferred to Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

U. S. ARMY

Served as an electrical engineer in 1964 for three years for U. S. Army, Europe, and Engineer Command in Frankfurt, Germany.

MY FAMILY

My wife Karen, the Child Psychologist, who is determined to keep parent/child communication channels open.

• She has a B. Sc. Degree summa cum laude in Child Development and M. Sc. Degree in Child Psychology.

• She is a Childcare Psychologist and Expert in Parent/Child Communication Techniques.

Parents and private fund raisers support the center. Several San Francisco Bay Area foundations, notably among those such as United Way, David & Lucile Packard Foundation, BankAmerica Foundation and many others are firm supporters of the center.

The center has provided quality child care to thousands of families in the bay area since 1978.

Andrew, an Environmental Engineer, who is determined to protect the environment and keep our country's resources bountiful.

• Our youngest son, Andrew, a top athlete and an honors student, graduated in November 2000 in Environmental Sciences and Management from University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa.

• He finished one year in B.Sc in Biology and was on Dean Honors' list at Humboldt State University before leaving for South Africa.

• His expertise is in Biology, Bio Resources, Computer Science, Pedology, Soils and Environment.

• He is a certified Rescue Diver.

• Presently, he is about to finish M.Sc. (Masters Degree in Science)in Environmental Sciences at the Royal Veterinary and Agriculture University in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Lt. Kevin, the Defender, who is determined to defend our nation and keep it stronger.

• Our middle one, Kevin, also a top athlete, a 1996 honors graduate of University of California, Berkeley.

• He graduated and was commissioned as an Ensign with honors in honor class 22-00 on July 21, 2000 at the graduation and officer commissioning ceremonies at the United States Navy's Officer Candidate School on board the beautiful Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida, the Cradle of Naval Aviation.

• He got his Wings on December 14, 2001 at Naval Flight Officer Designation Ceremony. He earned his distinction by making the Commodore's List and was awarded William A. Cohen Leadership Award.

• He is Lieutenant (j.g.) and flies EA-6B Prowler. Naval Flight Officers are the best trained and most highly skilled military flight officers in the world.

• Our eldest, Laura Michelle, graduated at age 21 with honors B. A. Degree in Literature and Education from Princeton University, New Jersey in June 1992.

• She chose to spend two years in Paraguay, South America, as a Teacher Trainer Consultant appointed by Peace Corps and helped implement a teaching curriculum for use at primary school level.

• She obtained an additional Masters Degree in Education from San Francisco State University and graduated in 1998.

• She is a Specialist in Early Child Education and distinguished herself in November, 2001 as a National Certified Teacher certified by National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), one of the under 2000 nationally certified teachers in the nation.

• She was recently named University of California Summer Fellow and Teacher Consultant for the University of California at Berkeley/Bay Area Writing Project.
