Reduce Taxes, Fix Workers' Comp, Cut RegulationsBy Chuck DeVoreCandidate for Member of the State Assembly; District 70; Republican Party | |

Taxes and workers' compensation insurance costs are too high in the Golden State. Raising taxes is not an option.Taxes and workers' compensation insurance costs are too high in the Golden State. This drives business owners to relocate or expand their businesses out of California, reducing state tax revenue and making jobs scarce. Raising taxes is not an option. If we raise taxes, our already critical state budget will implode as revenue shrinks. We need to immediately take steps to make California attractive to both labor and capital. This means getting the budget under control, cutting taxes for all Californians, and reducing the regulatory and lawsuit burden that drives business and jobs away from California. The workers' compensation system in California is broken. Costs are skyrocketing, yet workers are getting few of the benefits. The reason: fraud, abuse, and a powerful special interest: the trial attorneys -- a group that considers Sacramento its own special playground. Elected officials who support my stand on reducing taxes and limiting government have weighed in enthusiastically: Orange County needs to send a fiscal conservative like Chuck DeVore to Sacramento to deal with the state's budget mess. As a former Assembly Republican Leader, I know the importance of electing candidates who will remain steadfast in their principles and stand with their fellow Republicans during difficult budget negotiations. Taxpayers can trust Chuck DeVore to fight for lower taxes, less regulation and secure funding for local governments. Chuck has been unwavering in his dedication to the Republican Party, and that's why I support his candidacy. Bill Campbell Supervisor, County of Orange Chuck DeVore is the candidate of ideas, of commitment. We know we can trust him in Sacramento + that he will stand firm against those who would raise our taxes and erode our freedoms. He's a lifelong, loyal Republican who's been there in the trenches with us. Chris Norby Supervisor, County of Orange We need Republican leaders like Chuck DeVore fighting on behalf of taxpayers. We know he'll stick to his word, and we trust him to cut government waste and bring fiscal discipline back to Sacramento. Peter Herzog Mayor of Lake Forest Board Member of ETRPA |
