TONI CASEY'S CREDENTIALS MAKE STRONG CASE FOR SENATE Toni Casey brings a wide range of experience and a new vision for California to the Senate race against Barbara Boxer. Her broad, deep experience in government and business along with her strong fiscally conservative record and moderate stance on social issues uniquely positions her to defeat Boxer in November 2004. Casey's experience in government covers local, state and federal government. Her business experience spans small business to big business. Toni has 25 years of experience in reducing unnecessary government regulations as well as developing strategic plans and marketing strategies for Fortune 500 Corporations, small businesses, and new ventures. She has owned and operated two restaurants. Toni spent two years as the VP of Marketing of a senior housing corporation. Toni has bridged the gap between business and government and understands the need to reduce and to simplify regulations. Most recently, Casey was appointed by President Bush as the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs at the U.S. Small Business Administration. As Director, she was responsible for working with governors, mayors, small business owners and community leaders to develop partnerships aimed at improving the business climate and at creating capital access for small businesses. Before joining the SBA, Casey provided business-development leadership and consultation to start-up companies. She identified and secured strategic alliances and key partnerships, allowing clients to increase company value prior to IPO funding and to strategically position their business platform to maximize market share opportunities. Prior to business development, Casey spent ten years as an advocate in the biotech industry. She has worked with legislative bodies and state regulatory agencies in California, Florida, Texas, Rhode Island, Georgia, Louisiana, and Colorado. Toni has served as Mayor three times during her twelve years on the Los Altos Hills City Council. She served as Co-Chair for "Bush 2000" for San Mateo and Santa Clara counties, and was a member of the Bush Finance committee of Northern California. She was appointed to serve as a Bush delegate to the Republican National Convention where she played a highly-visible role on the Platform Committee. Casey holds an MBA from Stanford University and an MS from Stanford Medical School. She also holds a BA in history and political science from Emory University in Atlanta, GA. |
