Education Bachelor's Degree in mathethematics, Univeristy of Notre Dame. Master's Degree in computer science, University of Virginia. Juris Doctor (Law) Degree, Santa Clara University. Business Experience Maad is an entrepeneur who has started several small high-technology businesses. His current business provides software for patent attorneys and is being used by over 70 law firms and corporations. Maad is also an immigration attorney who represents low-income clients, mainly Latino, in immigration proceedings. Political Activity Maad has been politically active throughout his college education and career. He was President of the Middle Eastern Law Students Association in Santa Clara Law Schoool and became President of the Bay Area Chapter of the American-Arab Anti-Disrimination Committee after graduating. Maad's articles have also been published internationally and he has spoken extensively on Middle East peace. Personal Background Maad was born in the West Bank and came to the U.S. for college in 1979 because of his admiration of the US Constitution and the freedoms guaranteed in the Bill of Rights. He currently lives in Pacifica. His favorite hobbies are windsurfing and rock climbing. Maad is an animal lover and has two cats he got from the Peninsula SPCA. |
