1. What does California need to do to address the current budget crisis?

- Cap state spending.
- Reform workers's compensation.
- Welfare reform.
2. What should the state's priorities be for K-12 education? For the Community College System?

Answer from Davy Jones:
- National standards and testing of public school students
- Testing teachers and reward teachers with merit pay.
- Fund school capital improvements
- Increase funding for Head Start programs
- Support funding for tax incentives and ˜ancial aid to
help make college affordable.
3. What measures would you support to address California's water needs?

Answer from Davy Jones:
I support ecosystems restoration, increase water storage and reducing our dependence on the Colorado River. I am concerned that climatic changes will pose serious challenges to the water system and flooding potential.
I will propose changes in state law or fun ding to protect our water supply and environment.
4. What should the Legislature be doing to address the needs of Californians without health insurance?

Answer from Davy Jones:
I believe that Californians must have access to basic
health care through managed care, or state funded programs.
Support the re-importation of prescription drugs from
Canada.
Support universal health care.
