Laws, Laws, LawsBy Thomas J. "Tom" WeissmillerCandidate for Member, Republican Party County Central Committee; County of San Mateo; Supervisorial District 2 | |

Our laws are too complex.I am in favor of the Freedom of Stress and Anxiety Act. There really is not such an act, but we need one. Everything is too complicated. When I was young I was told that things would be easier when I got older. I was naïve and believed it. I also believed in the paperless office. Have you ever called a government agency? Did you ever get to talk to anyone who could answer your question or resolve your problem? WE are paying big bucks to operate government agencies that cannot provide customer service. This is not necessarily the problem of the people working, but everything has gotten so complicated, no one knows the answer. Even if you find someone that knows the answer they cannot tell you because they do not have the authorization. We have so many laws there is no law at all. Congress passes laws that are not very specific. The executive branch tries to figure out how to implement them, and the judicial branch interprets them. Complex and vague laws may be good for lawyers, but the common citizen. |
