I am running as a candidate for the DCCC to strengthen our local Democratic party and build unity for all voters who identify as Democrats. If elected, I will spend the next two years working to address the challenges of an increasing apathetic electorate. Our party needs to promote more quality of life ballot measures that clean and green our streets and parks, promote quality education in every neighborhood, address the need for affordable rental housing and affordable home ownership for low to middle income residents and supportive housing for those that need a hand up, fight for equal rights such as gay marriage, and provide quality healthcare for all.

In order to accomplish this agenda, we must begin to rethink how the DCCC reaches out to neighborhood clubs and voters at large. We live in the heart of the technology boom and in a City, with over 70% of our residents registered as Democrats. San Francisco's DCCC should be the model for the state, and the nation, merging technology and voter education. I will promote a plan to use new technology to proactively educate and communicate with Democrats. By building an on-line community we can begin to revitalize off-line participation in the Party.

I will strengthen the relationship between the local neighborhood clubs and the DCCC. A better partnership between these groups directly affects how successful we are as a Party. I believe that the charter qualifications for neighborhood clubs should be reviewed. Chartered clubs should be required to meet a minimum of four times a year (once per quarter). There are many clubs that meet only once or twice a year but are considered "chartered." All chartered clubs should have meeting times and locations specified on the DCCC website. In exchange for these increased requirements, the DCCC should assist the neighborhood clubs with promotion of their meetings and events. Neighborhood clubs should also have input into ways they require assistance from the DCCC.

I look forward to working with the many different groups and clubs that make up our local Democratic party. Together we can make a stronger party that will benefit our city, state and nation.
