Political Philosophy for John B. Gostovich

For far too long we've settled for too little from our elected officials and the County departments they oversee...
Our County government tries to address every challenge with new rules and regulations. This is a recipe for widespread distrust and cynicism. North County residents are working to split the County. The Third, District Supervisor was nearly recalled. The Santa Ynez Community Plan has been abandoned. County housing initiatives are met with solid opposition as neighborhood residents and planners talk past each other. The system's simply not good enough. We can't afford more of the same. With your support, we can bring predictability, fairness, consistency, and openness to County government. With your support, we can achieve a cleaner environment and a stronger economy. We can have greater safety in our homes and businesses. We can have effective fire prevention and disaster preparedness. We can build a better, more attractive public transit system. We can build affordable housing for families and workers in locations that make sense. We can enjoy a county workforce which delivers customer service second to none. |
