As a Contra Costa County Library Commissioner, I believe that it's our responsibility to make our libraries resources in helping our children receive good, quality education.
We need to take bold action to do the following:

-Fund early childhood education
-Provide positive afterschool activities for our youth such as mentoring and tutoring programs
-Establish family literacy programs at our libraries to encourage children to read at a young age

By working together with education leaders, community leaders, teachers, parents, and students I will ensure that our county works for the next generation.
