My fellow directors and I work extremely well as a team, as well as with the staff of our innovative, award winning agency, to ensure continued environmental protection for now and future generations. We work hard to maintain rates that are among the lowest in the Bay Area while always continuing to provide award-winning service. Further, we strive to always continue being a leader in the wastewater industry. The District staff is composed of highly qualified engineers and other trained experts, who continuously develop innovative techniques for meeting the challenges of the industry and changing workforce.

My legal background in the public sector as a deputy district attorney, and private sector as defense counsel for schools and community college districts enable me to effectively represent you. My analytical and communication skills are an asset in Board decision- and policy- making. They give me valuable insights and allow me to bring a different perspective that very effectively complements the diversity on the Board.

I am highly involved in our local community, which helps me on the Board in serving and representing you. During my eight years residence in Fremont, community service activities include LIFE ElderCare Meals on Wheels , Fremont Cultural Arts Council, and teh SYDA Fremont Center and Oakland Headquarters

Highlights of Board decisions during Ms. Lathi's tenure:

Selection of a new general manager Continued support of the Hayward Marsh (USD created wetlands) Oversight of the implementation of an extensive Geographical Information System used by many local agencies Oversight of the construction of a safety training center that has gained regional praise and attention
