Candidate for
Member, Democratic Party County Central Committee; County of Alameda; Assembly District 14

Dear friends,

I was not planning on campaigning actively for this position. However, the Alameda County Democratic Party sent out an email in fear of the Party being "taken over" by supporters of Lyndon LaRouche. In that email message, they listed candidates who were "safe" to vote for, an endorsed slate. By omitting my name, they implied that I was a supporter of Lyndon LaRouche - as you can see from my brief biographical notes, I am not. In order to clarify my background and experience, I am placing information about myself on this website, and asked a handful of people if they might support my candidacy.

I have also not been informed of opportunities to present myself to various Democratic clubs for possible endorsement - even as they have held meetings and endorsed other candidates. These activities are a demonstration of a closed, insider process - akin to the way the national Democratic Party has treated Dennis Kucinich and his presidential campaign. With due respect when forced to, but marginalized or ignored otherwise.

As stated, I hope to foster a more open Democratic Party process that respects all individuals, while also promoting progressive values and progressive candidates such as John Marty, Paul Wellstone, and Dennis Kucinich.
