Don't vote for me for central committees

By Marsha Feinland

Candidate for Member, Peace and Freedom Party County Central Committee; County of Alameda; Supervisorial District 5

This information is provided by the candidate
A vote for me is wasted because I will be elected to the central committees automatically.
Peace and Freedom Party registrants are entitled to elect members of the state and county central committees at the primary. The same people are elected to both bodies with a single vote. All candidates for elected office in the primary automatically have their names placed on the ballot for central committees as well, so that if they lose the party nomination they may still be elected to the central committees.

I am unopposed in the primary, so I will automatically be nominated and as a nominee will become a member of the central committees. Candidates don't count toward the number of central committes members in a district, so there is actually room for Peace & Freedom Party registrants in the 5th supervisorial district to elect two more members by write-in. If you vote for all the candidates whose names are on the ballot AND you write in additional candidates, your vote will be disqualified because you'll have voted for too many people. So don't vote for candidats (who'll be elected anyway). Instead, vote for Albert Dragstedt and Antonio Salas as write-in candidates.

Albert DRAGSTEDT teaches at St Mary's College in Moraga and has been a socialist activist for many years. Antonio SALAS is national co-chair of the Socialist Party USA.
