Additional Endorsements for Barbara Duncan Fillion
Candidate for |

|
October 15, 2003 Dear Neighbor On Tuesday, November 4, the residents of Evendale will have a tremendous opportunity. Evendale is a lovely community with many fine services and facilities, but the last few years have highlighted the need for new energy, vision, and responsible leadership. It is my belief that Barbara Duncan Fillion is the person who can provide that leadership. During my tenure as a Procter & Gamble Manager, I personally witnessed Barbara, a very professional and dedicated leader, in action. At P&G, she successfully led several large multi-functional business teams to solve complex problems with results where all parties were happy with the outcome.... no small feat given that all functional units came with different agendas and priorities! A skilled consensus builder and negotiator, she worked successfully with many different groups of people. Barbara also had responsibilities for budgeting, fiscal planning, and for managing multi-million dollar budgets. Barbara managed each dollar as if it were her own. Finally, Barbara's business and interpersonal instincts are coupled with her passion for being responsive to and communicating effectively with individuals. Barbara has been a passionate leader in the area of community service as well. She's been active in her church, serving as Trustee and in various other capacities at Hyde Park Community United Methodist Church. She served as a Loaned Executive to the Cincinnati Youth Collaborative at start-up and Vice-Chair of Leadership Development of the Junior League of Cincinnati. She currently serves as a Board Member and a member of the Development Committee for the Madisonville Education & Assistance Center. My family and I have known the Fillion family for the past 10 years. Barb and her husband, John, have a son who is a Princeton High School graduate and who is currently in college, and an 8th grader at Princeton Junior High. Despite the demands on her time, she remains a supportive mother who is active in her sons' school and extra-curricular activities. In short, I know Barbara to be an "out-of-the-box" strategic thinker, a problem solver, and a visionary leader. Her integrity, her desire to do "the right thing," and her ethical business practices are absolute. I encourage you to learn more about Barbara and the other candidates who might represent you on Council. If you did not yet get the chance to meet Barbara in person, I suggest that you catch the ICRC replays of the "Meet the Candidates Night," which are listed on the back of this note. And finally, please take the time to vote on November 4th. I hope I can count on you to support Barbara with your vote.
Sincerely,
