Bev Finley, now seeking the office of Mayor of Modesto, retired after a distinguished career in health care in which she focused on serving the public health needs of those less fortunate.

From 1990 to 2001 Bev was the Chief Executive for the County's public health system, first as the CEO of Stanislaus Medical Center, and then as Director of the County Health Services Agency. During her tenure in which she successfully oversaw transitioning the County's inpatient hospital to a dynamic outpatient based service, she was given numerous prestigious honors including including the National Association of Public Hospitals Outstanding Public Hospital leader in the U.S.; the Stanislaus County Commission on Women Outstanding Woman Award; the California State University, Stanislaus Outstanding Alumna Award; and the California Hospital Association Outstanding Hospital Administrator in California.

Prior to that, Bev served at Emanuel Medical Center, served as the first CEO of Stanislaus Surgery Center, and previously held increasing responsibilities with Scenic General Hospital for the County from 1976 to 1984. Before coming to Modesto, Bev was a Tennis teacher and coach for the University IFE in Nigeria, Africa, and held a position in University Relations and Development for the University of Washington during the 1960's.

Bev has been an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Program in Public Administration and Health Care Administration for California State University Stanislaus since 1992. Bev has considerable involvement in serving on community programs, and has served on on numerous boards and committees in local non-profit organizations.
