I was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. I'm a fourth generation Californian. I graduated from San Francisco State University with Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in English and Creative Writing. I worked for number of successful years as a paralegal and helped lead and shape this important profession that now allows for more access and at a lower cost to legal services for all of us. I worked for over 14 years at the great Hewlett-Packard Company in Silicon Valley and while there made a career change from the world of law to the world of marketing. I left HP as a marketing manager in the computer/software area at the end of last year. I recently started my own consulting business, Ruse Consulting, specializing in Strategies, Writing, Idea Generation and Marketing. I'm also a published writer.

I am a trained volunteer docent at the beautiful Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach. In addition, I am a part of a county-sponsored/ surfrider assoc. water quality project. I'm a member of the Half-Moon Bay chamber of commerce, the palo alto run club, Sierra Club, Audubon, Forests Forever, Global Fund for Women and sit on some non-profit boards. My interests include running, tennis, yoga, reading, playing the piano, and music (especially jazz, classical and good 'ole Rock and Roll).
